Joe Schmidt has spent his entire 35-year career in the commercial real estate industry. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma Price College of Business, he spent over 30 years with MetLife, AIG, Bank of America, UBS and KeyBank. Mr. Schmidt played multiple senior roles in each of these companies including Managing Director and head of the Central Region. As a producer, Mr. Schmidt and his teams financed commercial and multifamily properties in over 50 cities and 23 states totaling in excess of $18 billion.
Mr. Schmidt is founder and managing partner of JHS Interest, LLC, a multifamily and industrial investment firm based in Dallas, Texas. The firm focuses on acquisitions in existing and emerging business markets within targeted cities throughout the Sun Belt. Mr. Schmidt is actively engaged in the management and business plan execution for all investment opportunities. Schmidt formed Hillview Capital Partners (“HCP”) in early 2020 to pursue industrial opportunities throughout the Sun Belt region. You can find more on HCP at www.HillviewCP.com.
Mr. Schmidt is a native of Houston and has lived in Dallas for the past 25 years. He is a member of the University of Oklahoma Business Advisory Council and Real Estate Council of Dallas.
